Volunteer at the 47th Annual Winter Special Games!
Winter Special Games is an event that started in 1972 and has run annually for 46 successful consecutive years through the Kinesiology Students' Association. It is a one-day event that invites both public and high school children/young adults with physical/mental disabilities from the London area to come to Western and be paired up with kinesiology students. Throughout the day both the student and volunteer have the chance to participate in a variety of different activities such as crafts and board games as well as many sports/games indoors. Participants have 2 kinesiology student “buddies” that will spend the day with them. This event is completely free of charge and aimed to provide an amazing opportunity that brings together children/ young adults with special needs and Western’s Kinesiology students for a fun filled memorable experience. Our theme this year is Jurassic Safari!

How do I volunteer?
For anyone interested in volunteering there will be two MANDATORY volunteer (you only need to attend one) information sessions that will be held in the UCC. The information session will allow us to pair you with a special needs student or find you a suitable role throughout the event!
Session dates: WEDNESDAY JANUARY 9TH at 6:30 PM and THURSDAY JANUARY 10th at 6:30 PM.
If you are unable to make either of these info sessions but would still like to volunteer, please contact either Melissa Baile or Jordin Higgs. At this info session you will get a run down of the day, as well as fill out a form to volunteer. Please apply below:
